Fifteen Fireworks Shows Highlight Season of the Millionth Fan
March 5, 2010

TROY, N.Y.- The Tri-City ValleyCats have released the 2010 promotional schedule and fans will not have to wait long to be a part of the excitement. In order to determine who will be immortalized as a ValleyCats bobblehead doll, the ValleyCats have created an 18-participant contest to coincide with the upcoming NCAA March Madness Tournament. Those participants include members of the Capital Regions most prominent television, radio, and print media.

Participants include Lydia Kulbida and Jamie Seh from WTEN; Doug Sherman and Liz Bishop from WRGB; Benita Zahn and Rodger Wyland from WNYT; Marisa Jacques and Joe Calderone from Capital News 9; Rich Becker and John Gray from FOX23; Brian Sinkoff from 104.5 The Team; Bob Wolf from Pyx 106; Brian Cody from Fly92; Randy McCarten from 99.5 The River; Mark McGuire, Kristi Gustafson, and Steve Barnes from The Albany Times-Union; and Ken Schott from The Daily Gazette.

Each has chosen a charity that they will represent. The Tri-City ValleyCats will donate $600 to the charity of the tournament champion, while $100 will be donated to those who make it to the final four.

The winners’ likeness will be immortalized as seven-inch hand-carved, hand-painted ceramic bobblehead dolls to be distributed to the first 1,200 fans prior to the ValleyCats game on Sunday, August 22nd.

Beginning Monday March 15th, fans will have the opportunity to vote online at www.bobblevote.com, or by calling the ValleyCats front office at (518) 629-2287. Each round of voting will last one week until a champion is crowned on April 12th.
