Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins
vs.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs (49-62)
Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies
GAME TIME: 11:05 p.m.
SERIES: Rochester leads the series 8-5.
PREVIEW: The Rochester Red Wings finish up their six-game home stand with the finale of a two-game set with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies) in a Wednesday morning matchup at 11:05 am on Frontier Field.
The Wings will send RHP Trevor May (8-5, 2.94 ERA) to the mound as he looks to record his first win since June 21 at Buffalo. May missed two weeks with a strained calf and was pushed back even further when his first scheduled start (7/13) since coming of the disabled list was postponed due to rain. May eventually got on the mound July 19 at Norfolk tossing three innings allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three. The righty will be making his ninth start at Frontier Field and has a 5-1 record with a 1.45 ERA (8 ER/49.2 IP). May looks to stay undefeated during day games as he is 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA (1 R/11 IP) in two starts while not allowing an earned run.
Rochester will be opposed by Greg Smith who is 7-8 with a 4.41 ERA and is coming off two straight losses in back-to-back starts. The left-hander has gone 0-3 with a 5.70 ERA (15 ER/21.2 IP) in his last four starts. Smith will be making his third start against the Wings this season in which he is already 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA (4 ER/11.0 IP) with six strikeouts while allowing only two hits in his last outing vs. Rochester at Frontier Field on June 26.
