Individual Tickets on Sale at March 20th FanFest

March 7, 2010
The surest sign that baseball is near: the BlueClaws annual FanFest returns to FirstEnergy Park on March 20th, from 12 noon to 5 pm. It marks the day that individual game tickets for the 10th season in BlueClaws history will go on sale to the general pubic for the first time, and the event will include a full day of FREE fun at the ballpark.

FanFest 2010 is sponsored by the United States Census, which will hand out BlueClaws mini bats to the first 1,500 fans ages 17 & under. The Census will also have a table set up on the concourse to distribute materials and register families for the 2010 census.

In addition to individual game tickets going on sale for the first time, each reserve seat will be $1 of the regular price and will sell for just $9 (adult) or $6 (jr/sr). Fans that have already ordered their seats through a ticket package can pick up their tickets at the ballpark.

Plus, the ClawsCove will have a Farewell to Pinchy sale, with remaining old logo items (including polos, jackets, and novelties) being sold at 75% off the regular price.

"Our FanFest is always one of the highlights of the year because it means that baseball is returning soon," said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. "2010 is going to be an extra-special year for us since it's our tenth season, and I think FanFest 2010 reflects that."

Included in the afternoon are free food and drinks, behind-the-scenes tours of the ballpark, and the chance to call-your-own home run in the press box.

BlueClaws Kids Club members can participate in a scavenger hunt and listen to The Story of Clawd, about the crab on the new BlueClaws logo. Fans can take pictures in a BlueClaws jersey on the field or with the team''s two championship trophies.

Plus, there will be a sale in the ClawsCove and basketball fans can watch second round NCAA Tournament games on the video board.

Further, anyone that brings non-perishable food (donated to Ocean County hunger relief), will receive a voucher for two reserve seats to an April game. The BlueClaws are also collecting gently used cell phones which will be donated to Cell Phones for Soldiers.

BlueClaws ticket packages and group outings are currently on sale, and are the only way to reserve the best seats in the park before individual game tickets go on sale March 20th.

Phone and on-line sales will begin on Monday, March 22nd.

Opening Day, when the BlueClaws raise the 2010 championship banner, is Friday, April 16th, and there will be post-game fireworks.

The BlueClaws will host two series against the Yankees SAL affiliate, Charleston (May 3-6 and July 20-23), plus seven Fireworks Fridays (presented by Toyota/Scion World of Lakewood) beginning July 1st. Availability for these games is expected to be extremely limited.
