Round Rock, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Partnering

April 30, 2009

AUSTIN, Texas - The Round Rock Express and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf have announced a partnership for the 2009 baseball season. The announcement was made Wednesday by Express president Jay Miller.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - the world's oldest privately held coffee retailer - will provide a diverse selection of specialty whole bean coffees and whole leaf teas to the Round Rock Express players, executives and front office personnel, as well as the attending media, scouts and special guests. In addition, the company will offer samplings of its Original Ice-BlendedÒ and other popular beverages to fans at The Dell Diamond during the summer.

"We're excited about The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf planting roots in the Central Texas community," Miller said. "The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has made a strong effort to connect with the Austin-area community and their partnership with the Round Rock Express is just one example. Just like the Express, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has been a dedicated member of its industry and a strong community partner."

As part of its commitment to community involvement and support of goodwill initiatives, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will partner with the Round Rock Express to provide beverages at charitable functions taking place at the stadium.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will soon bring its diverse selection of specialty whole bean coffees and whole leaf teas to Austin, when it opens for business in June at 221 S. Lamar Blvd. near Lady Bird Lake. A second location is set to open this summer at N. Lamar and 38th Street.

Founded in 1963, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf offers more than 20 varieties of the finest Arabica coffee from specially selected estates around the world. Each bean is custom roasted daily at the roasting facility in Camarillo, Calif., resulting in the perfect roast every time, whether it is a light and subtle roast, a rich and smooth medium roast or a popular dark and distinctive roast. The company also produces and serves an extraordinary collection of over 20 unique, hand-picked, premium whole leaf teas harvested globally from exclusive tea growing estates, including black, oolong and green teas, flavored teas and several caffeine-free herbal and fruit infusions.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will also partner will several small Austin bakeries to provide fresh daily breads, pastries and assorted dessert items, and in keeping with the company's overarching commitment to community outreach and involvement, plans to work with several Austin-based charities to help support their respective worthy causes.
