Curve's 2015 Schedule Announced with Fewer April Games, Fourth of July at Home

CURVE, Pa. - The Altoona Curve, Double-A affiliates of the Pittsburgh Pirates, are pleased to announce their 2015 schedule, which will be the franchise's 17th season. The Curve will once again be at home on the Fourth of July (Saturday), and of the team's 71 home games, 47 of them will be played after June 1.
The 2015 season will start a week later than 2014 with the team opening up on the road on April 9 at Harrisburg. The team will play seven games away from Curve, Pa. before the home opener on Thursday, April 16 versus the Akron RubberDucks (AA - Indians). Including Opening Night, the Curve will play just seven games at home in April and they'll all come in one homestand that runs from April 16-22.
In May, the team plays 17 games at home with a majority of them coming versus Western Division opponents before diving into a big chunk of their home schedule in June, July and August.
The team will also change the standard game time for weeknight games (Monday-Friday) in April and May to 6 p.m. For the past several seasons, the standard weeknight game time has been 6:30 in the season's first two months. Starting in June, the Monday through Friday standard game time will once again be 7 p.m. There are five weekday games on the 2015 schedule: Education Day games on May 7, May 13, and June 3 - all at 10:30 a.m.; plus 12:00 p.m. games on July 13 and July 29.
Ever-popular games against the Trenton Thunder (AA - Yankees) will take place August 27-30 and will actually close the home portion of the schedule. After the final home series of the year with Trenton, the team embarks on a season-closing, eight-game road trip through Bowie and Binghamton. The Curve play their final regular-season game of 2015 on Labor Day (September 7) in Binghamton.
By month, the team will play seven games in April, 17 in May, 14 in June, 15 in July and 18 in August. In addition, there is more competitive balance in terms of divisional play on the 2015 schedule with the Curve playing Western Division opponents at or near the same amount of games: Akron (22 games), Erie, Harrisburg, and Richmond (20 games each), and Bowie (14 games). Conversely, Altoona will play Eastern Division opponents between six and ten games each next year.
"We're really pleased with the 2015 schedule with the later Opening Night, only seven games in April, and the Fourth of July at home again," said Curve General Manager Rob Egan. "We think our fans will like the better balance against divisional opponents, too. There have been years where we've played less than 14 games against some nearby, divisional opponents. That won't be the case in 2015."
With the release of next year's schedule, season tickets for the 2015 season are now on sale. Prices for season tickets, which include all 71 home games in 2015, will remain the same as they have been since 2009. The rates for the various seating levels are as follows:

Curve full season ticket holders can enjoy the same great benefits in 2015 as they have in previous seasons like season-ticket holder batting practice, a first-pitch opportunity, early entrance into the stadium, priority seating for playoff games and special events, the Never Waste A Ticket Program (which allows season ticket holders who missed a home game to use those tickets for a later game in the Grandstand) and an autograph session with the team.
As a special bonus, the Curve will offer a Season Ticket Holder Day in Curve, Pa. to all those who have placed a deposit on full season tickets by September 30. The Season Ticket Holder Day, which will take place on Sunday, May 31, 2015, will include the following items only for those who have placed a deposit on season tickets by September 30 of 2014:
- 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Ride and Slide Passes for Lakemont Park and The Island Waterpark
- 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. - Picnic at the ballpark
- 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Season Ticket Holder BP | Fun Zone Games | Door Prizes from Curve and Sponsors

Fans that pay in full by September 30, 2014 for their 2015 season tickets will be given the Early Bird Pricing on 2015 season tickets, which is listed below:

Inquiries about 2015 season tickets can be made during all remaining Curve home games in 2014, via the phone at 877.99.CURVE or in person on non-game days Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
The Curve continue their homestand tonight versus Richmond at 7 p.m. with gates at 5 p.m. Piney from Sons of Anarchy will be at the ballpark to sign autographs for two hours thanks to City Beverage and Miller Lite. The event will coincide with a Thirsty ThursdayTM presented by Rocky 104.9 with 16oz. Miller Lites and 22oz. sodas on special for $2. Cousin Mike will play the Rocky Gap Casino Resort Entertainment Deck beginning at 5 p.m.
In addition, any fan who rides to the game on their motorcycle can park for free at Thursday night's game plus the first 50 folks who ride in on their motorcycle with tickets to the game can show their bike off in a pregame parade of motorcycles around the warning track.
