Top 25 Women in Business in NEPA Named
Among the 25 honored was Kristen Rose, President of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees. "I am honored to be selected as one of the Top 25 Business Women of NEPA. I am privileged to be in the company of such outstanding women, and am thrilled to be a part of our business community."
"Our region is fortunate to have a wealth of successful women," stated Patti Brown, president of the local chapter of NAWBO. "Our nominees come from all types of organizations, some come from corporate positions, many are small business owners. All of the women have brought leadership to our community and are an inspiration. I am frequently touched by the stories of these women's lives, many of whom have brought jobs, growth, and recognition to our community."
Over 150 women were nominated for the honor, a 25% growth in the number of nominations received this year over last. Past nominees have included Debbie Dunleavy, Lynn Evans, Tara Wilson and Dolly Woody among others.
"By placing the spotlighting on women business leaders, we're hopefully encouraging other women with dreams of becoming entrepreneurs and also thanking the women who have given back to the community through their business leadership."
