Hollowell joins PBUC full-time

Veteran ump becomes field evaluator/instructor

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Matt Hollowell has joined The Professional Baseball Umpire Corp. (PBUC) staff full-time as a Field Evaluator/Instructor. Prior to joining PBUC in this capacity, Matt worked as a part-time Area Evaluator for the wholly owned subsidiary of Minor League Baseball.

Matt, a native of Whitehouse Station, N.J., umpired in the New York-Penn, South Atlantic, Carolina, Eastern, International and Arizona Fall leagues. He also umpired part-time in the Major Leagues during his career. The Jupiter, Fla., resident holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science/History from Albright College in Reading, Pa.

PBUC is responsible for the training, evaluation and recommendation for promotion, retention or release of all umpires in the Minor League Baseball system throughout the United States and Canada.
