Dosch's 12th-Inning Heroics Give Birds 5-3 Win

August 7, 2014

LAKEWOOD, NJ - Drew Dosch's 12th inning RBI double broke a 3-3 tie and Delmarva added a run to beat the BlueClaws 5-3, tying the longest game played this season at FirstEnergy Park.

The BlueClaws (18-28/45-70), who did not get a hit after the 7th inning and did not score after the 2nd inning, fall to 3-5 in extra innings this year. Lakewood had the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the 12th inning but Donnie Hart struck out Dylan Cozens to end the game and earn his 2nd save.

Delmarva got their two 12th-inning runs off Aaron Baker (1-2), who had thrown scoreless innings in the 10th and 11th innings. In the 11th inning, he struck out four hitters, becoming the first BlueClaws pitcher ever to do accomplish that feat.

The Shorebirds (19-27/57-58) are now 15-8 against the BlueClaws this year. They tied the game in the 8th inning on an RBI single from Josh Hart, bringing home Gregory Lorenzo who led off the inning with a triple off Delvi Francisco.

The BlueClaws build a 3-0 lead after two innings. Andrew Pullin homered in the 1st inning, his 8th of the season, which preceeded an RBI single from Willians Astudillo. A Pullin RBI single in the 2nd inning off Mitch Horacek (6 IP, 3 ER) scored the final BlueClaws run of the night.

Lakewood starter Jon Prosinski gave up two runs in six innings and got a no-decision. Pullin finished 3-6 and Zach Green went 2-4 for the BlueClaws.

The two teams play a Friday double-header beginning at 5:05. RHP Yacksel Rios (5-0) starts game one for Lakewood against LHP Bennett Parry (0-1). RHP Ranfi Casimiro (3-9) and RHP Dariel Delgado (0-1) square off in game two.
