Tigers Top Prospect Derek Hill Added To CT Tigers Roster

NORWICH, CT- The Detroit Tigers 2014 first round draft pick, outfielder Derek Hill, has been added to the Connecticut Tigers roster as of Monday, August 11th.

The 18 year old from Elk Grove, California was recently named the Detroit Tigers top prospect by MLB.com. Hill was selected 23rd overall by the Tigers in the 2014 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Prior to his promotion to Connecticut, Hill appeared in 27 games for the Gulf Coast League Tigers, collecting 22 hits, 2 home runs, and 11 RBI.

Outfielder Ross Kivett, a 2014 New York-Penn League All-Star selection, has been promoted to the Class-A West Michigan Whitecaps.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 season tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale!
