Brandon Phillips Expected to Play for Dragons Sunday
The Cincinnati Reds provided this statement today regarding second baseman Brandon Phillips, who has been out since July 10 after surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb:
"Barring complications following his appearance in tonight's game at Louisville, Brandon Phillips is expected to have his rehab assignment transferred to Dayton Sunday."
Phillips is a three-time National League All-Star, four-time Rawlings Gold Glove winner at second base, and three-time Reds Most Valuable Player. He is also the Reds all-time career leader among second basemen in home runs, hits, RBI, and doubles.
