Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame Enshrine Larry Doughty
FISHKILL, NY- Larry Doughty, of the Tampa Bay Rays will be inducted into the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame (SHOF) on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at Dutchess Stadium. Doughty will join a prestigious group of individuals who have left their mark in the world of baseball through the profession of scouting. Doughty will be the 13th Professional Baseball Scout honored at Dutchess Stadium.
A native of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Doughty, has scouted and evaluated talent for Professional Baseball for five decades. Over that span, Doughty has won six World Series rings and has been a recipient of Major League Baseball's George Genovese Lifetime Achievement Award for Scouting. During his career, Doughty has been a Player Personnel Director (Royals) National Cross-Checker (Padres, Royals and Brewers); and Professional Scout (Dodgers, Mets and Rays). Doughty also served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates, helping the Bucs claim back-to-back National League East Titles in 1990-91 (Full Bio Attached).

Criteria for induction into the Scouts Hall of Fame include a minimum of 20 years of pro scouting experience. Selection is also based on a combination of quantifiable successes in all areas of amateur and professional baseball. Equally important is their involvement and dedication to the local community that is honoring them.
Doughty will be inducted into the Scouts Hall of Fame Sunday, August 17, 2014 prior to the Hudson Valley Renegades home game against the Lowell Spinners. The ceremony will begin at 3:15 p.m. in front of the Mid-Hudson Subaru Scouts Hall of Fame wall located at the entrance of Dutchess Stadium.
