Game will be made up as part of Sunday afternoon doubleheader
August 16, 2014

AUBURN, NY - Saturday night's scheduled 7:05 p.m. game between the State College Spikes and the Auburn Doubledays at Falcon Park has been postponed due to rain in the Auburn area. The two teams will make up the game as part of a doubleheader consisting of two seven-inning games starting Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

Pitching matchups for the games have not yet been determined. State College was originally slated to have right-hander Trey Nielsen (3-2) on the mound on Saturday, while Auburn was scheduled to send right-hander Anderson Martinez (1-1) to the hill. Sunday's initial matchup was to have been Spikes right-hander Fernando Baez (2-1) against Doubledays right-hander Luis Torres (1-1).

State College's magic number for a division championship remains at eight, pending the results of tonight's New York-Penn League contests.

After the conclusion of the three-game road trip and the New York-Penn League All-Star break, the Spikes will come back home to face the Doubledays for a pair of 7:05 p.m. games next Wednesday and Thursday at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Fans will be able to enjoy Half-Price Wednesday, presented by BIG Froggy 101, as well as another fantastic $1 Beer Night, presented by 93.7 THE BUS, featuring great wing specials and post-game FIREWORKS, presented by First National Bank and ESPN Radio 1450 on Thursday night.
