Fisher named 2014 NYPL All-Star

The outfielder joins Nick Tanielu, Jamie Ritchie and Ryan Thompson as 'Cats who will participate in Tuesday's game

TROY, NY-Tri-City ValleyCats outfielder Derek Fisher has been named to the North Roster for the 2014 New York-Penn League All-Star Game, set to take place at MCU Park in Brooklyn on Tuesday, August 19th.
 
Fisher, who is batting .336 with one home run, four doubles, two triples and a team-leading 14 stolen bases, was selected by the Houston Astros with the 37th overall pick in the 2014 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He joins ValleyCats infielder Nick Tanielu, catcher Jamie Ritchie, and relief pitcher Ryan Thompson as 2014 New York-Penn League All-Stars. Fellow outfielder Bobby Boyd was originally selected to the squad, but was promoted to the Single-A Quad Cities River Bandits on August 10th.
 
The Tri-City ValleyCats (42-20) take on the Staten Island Yankees on the road at Richmond County Ballpark today at 4:00pm in the final game before the All-Star Break. Following Tuesday night's festivities, the 'Cats will return home to "The Joe" on August 20th at 7:00pm to start a two-game set against the Vermont Lake Monsters.
