Meet Your Front Office: Pat Dillon

April 2, 2010
EVERETT, Wash.--Throughout the season, the AquaSox released a video series called 'Meet Your AquaSox'. With the players at Spring Training, now it is time to get to know your AquaSox Front Office! For the third installment, meet Pat Dillon, Director of Corporate Partnerships & Broadcasting and radio voice of the AquaSox for the past 12 seasons.

Name: Pat Dillon
Birthday: December 16
Hometown: Santa Barbara, CA
College: University of Washington
Pets: Purebred Boxer, Max
Family: Wife, Aleeta; 4½ year-old daughter, Taryn

Choice of superpower & why: The ability to fly. Can you imagine how much I'd save on airfare?
What would you do with a million dollars?: Start a life annuity, pronto.

Favorite Food: Blackened Prime Rib from The Metropolitan Grill
Favorite Sports Team: Seattle Mariners
Favorite Athlete: Steve Largent
Favorite Movie: Casablanca
Favorite place to travel: Kapaa, Kauai
Last Halloween costume:: Pirate
First Car?: Volkswagen GTI
Favorite TV Show?: Lost
Favorite Baseball Movie?: The Natural
Favorite website besides aquasox.com?: ussmariner.com
Favorite Food at Everett Memorial Stadium?: Chili Cheese Dog

Best Moment in Sports: Too many to mention - it's a privilege broadcasting minor league baseball. If I had to pick one it would be broadcasting Troy Cate's complete game shutout against Eugene in 2002, which clinched the division. It was the best performance by an AquaSox pitcher that I've ever seen. Ask me again when the AquaSox win the Northwest League Championship.
How did you get started working in sports?: Sent an unsolicited demo tape to the owner of a minor league baseball team and got hired. Yes, it can actually happen.
What advice do you have for other people who are interested in working in sports?: It's a good thing to follow where your heart takes you.
Most embarrassing moment in sports: I've had my fair share of gaffs on the air, but, thank goodness, there hasn't been anything catastrophic yet.
Hobbies in the off-season: Spending time with my family, running, gardening, watching sports
If you didn't work in sports what would you do?: Something not nearly as unique.

One thing people don't know about the AquaSox office or one of your co-workers: The Pac-10 is very well represented.
Other fun facts about you: I went to high school with former NFL quarterback Randall Cunningham and Academy Award nominated actor Josh Brolin.
