Joc Pederson Named To All-PCL Team

August 25, 2014

Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder Joc Pederson has been elected to the All-PCL Team by the league's field managers and media representatives, the Pacific Coast League announced Monday morning.

Pederson is currently enjoying a milestone year in Albuquerque. On Saturday night, he stole his 30th base of the season to become the first player in the PCL to steal 30 bases and hit 30 home runs in the same season since 1934. He currently has 32 homers and 30 stolen bases.

Ranked the Los Angeles Dodgers top-overall prospect entering the 2014 season, Pederson currently leads the PCL in home runs (32), on-base percentage (.432), runs scored (99), total bases (247) and walks (95). His .580 slugging percentage currently ranks third in the league.

Pederson's 95 walks are an Isotopes single-season record, while his 99 runs scored are just one shy of the single-season mark.

Other members of the All-PCL Team include Francisco Pena (C, Omaha), Adam Duvall (1B, Fresno), Arismendy Alcantara (2B, Iowa), Andy Marte (3B, Reno), Nick Ahmed (SS, Reno), Shane Peterson (OF, Sacramento), Matt den Dekker (OF, Las Vegas), Brennan Boesch (DH, Salt Lake), Jimmy Nelson (RHP, Nashville), Tsuyoshi Wada (LHP, Iowa) and Blake Parker (RP, Iowa).

Catch Pederson and the Isotopes as they begin their final homestand of the season this Thursday against the Las Vegas 51s at 6:05 p.m. On Friday night, one lucky fan will drive away with Pederson's car, as it will be given away following the game. There will also be a pair of fireworks shows and two giveaways during the four-game, five-day homestand.
