Adam Duvall named to the All-PCL First Team

FRESNO, Calif. - The Pacific Coast League announced today that current San Francisco Giants infielder Adam Duvall has been named to the All-PCL First Team for his efforts with the Fresno Grizzlies this season.

            Duvall, 25, played in 86 games for the Fresno Grizzlies, batting .296 (101-341) with 19 doubles, three triples, 26 home runs, 84 RBI, 28 walks and 62 runs scored. He owns a .357 on-base percentage and a .598 slugging percentage.

            Due to his early success, he received his first Major League callup to the Giants in late June and made his debut vs. Cincinnati on June 26^th. He went 1-4 with a solo home run, becoming the 13^th Giants player to have his first Major League hit be a home run in his first Major League game.

            He becomes the first Fresno player selected to the All-PCL First Team since right-hander Eric Hacker in 2010, while he is the first position player since outfielder John Bowker in 2009.

            Despite playing in only 86 games, he is one of 22 players in all of Minor League baseball to collect 25 homers in 2014 (as of August 24). He is the first Fresno player to record at least 25 homers in under 100 games since Todd Linden smacked 30 jacks over 95 games in 2005.

            Having only played 19 Triple-A games since June 25^th, Duvall still ranks second in the Pacific Coast League in home run-per-at bat ratio (1 HR/13.12 AB) and slugging percentage (.598), is fourth in RBI (84) and is tied for fourth in home runs (26).

            Over his first 21 games with the Giants, Duvall has batted .180 (11-61) with two doubles, two homers and three RBI. On July 21^st, he hit a go-ahead two-run homer off Philadelphia left-hander Cliff Lee in an eventual 7-4 Giants victory.
