Little League World Champion Robbinsville Softball Team To Be Honored On Friday
Thunder fans have seen their share of champions at ARM & HAMMER Park this season. The Thunder hosted the inaugural Special Olympics USA Gold Medal Game in June as well as special appearances by three World Series Most Valuable Players - Mariano Rivera (1999), Hideki Matsui (2009), and Reggie Jackson (1973 and 1977). This Friday, August 29, another group of champions will join the list as 2014 Little League World Series winners, the Robbinsville N.J. softball team, will be honored before the game.
Robbinsville defeated Bossier City, Louisiana, 4-1 in the championship game of the Little League World Series on August 13 in Portland, Oregon. The team of 11 and 12 year old girls had a 22-0 record as they captured their first National title.
Players will be introduced to the crowd and applauded for their championship season before the game. They'll also throw ceremonial pitches and join Thunder players on the field during the National Anthem.
This weekend, the Reading Fightins (Philadelphia Phillies) will visit ARM & HAMMER Park for the final four games of the season.
Friday's game features a David Phelps and Adam Warren Double Bobblehead thanks to Verizon Wireless (1st 2,000 ages 14+). It's also the team's annual Mustache Bash. On Saturday, the Thunder will present 3D fireworks thanks to eyecare.org (fans will receive 3D fireworks glasses upon entering). TICKETS
Sunday night, the Thunder will light up the skies with the final fireworks show of the season thanks to Bucks County Courier Times. TICKETS
The games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will also include a "Happy Hour" with the stadium opening at 5pm and $1 select draft beers available until 6pm. $2 beer specials will be available until the middle of the 5th inning.
The 2014 season will conclude on Monday at 1:05pm with the Great American Family Fun Day with Free Hot Dogs For Everyone, catch on the field before the game, meet and greet with Boomer and a Thunder player before the game, all fans can run the bases after the game, a Corn Hole Tournament, $2 beer specials (until the middle of the 5th inning) and a 2015 Magnetic Schedule giveaway (1st 2,000 ages 6+).
