Bees End 2014 Home Schedule with Win

The Salt Lake Bees beat the New Orleans Zephyrs 6-5 in the final home game of the season Wednesday night at Smith's Ballpark. The Zephyrs started the scoring in the first inning with four runs. The Bees scored four-runs in the second inning to tie the game which was highlighted by Shawn O'Malley making it all the way around the bases on a single and an error on the right fielder Kyle Jensen that scored three runs. New Orleans took the lead once more in the fifth when Justin Bour scoring off of Josh Rodriguez's sacrifice fly to right field. Salt Lake tied the game at five through Tony Campana's line drive single to left field plating John Buck. Brennan Boesch's 23rd home run of the season in the eighth inning gave the Bees the lead for good. Campana finished the night 2-for-3 with two RBIs and scoring one run. Along with the home run, Boesch hit a triple in the second inning.
 
Salt Lake starter Anthony Lerew (4-5) did not factor into the decision after putting in five innings of work allowing nine hits and five runs. New Orleans starter Andrew Heaney also did not factor into the decision after pitching six innings allowing seven hits and five runs. Vinnie Pestano (1-1) earned the win for the Bees. The loss is handed to Steve Ames (0-1).
