Bulls Suspended in Norfolk; Doubleheader on Sunday

Game Halted In 7th After Light Bank Fails
August 30, 2014

Norfolk, VA --- The Durham Bulls officially turned the lights out on their 2014 road campaign at Harbor Park on Saturday night. Literally.

After the right-centerfield light bank went out in the first inning, the Bulls battled the Norfolk Tides through the start of the seventh inning without the aid of those lights. After two balls were lost in the dark skies by Tides right fielder Dariel Alvarez in the seventh, and with the Tides bullpen fully ensconsed in darkness, play was halted by the umpires.

The game was officially suspended at 9:34 PM ET and will be resumed Sunday at the DBAP at 3:30 p.m. Gates will open at 3:00 p.m.

Norfolk, playing its home finale, was leading Matt Andriese and the Bulls 4-1 at the time of the delay. Durham was batting with one out in the top of the seventh, which is were the game will resume on Sunday.

Tickets for August 31 will admit fans into both games - the continuation of this game and the regularly-scheduled nine-inning contest.
