Spectacular Sunday of promotions in Frisco
FRISCO, TEXAS (AUGUST 31, 2014) - Even on a warm August evening in the Metroplex, the Frisco RoughRiders found themselves chilled to the bone last night after completing the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with help from fans. Today at 6:05 p.m. the 'Riders continue their final regular season home stand and have plenty of goodies in store for fans, including a free kid-sized Elvis Andrews replica jersey T-shirt, $1 cotton candy and a great ticket deal for the whole family!

Even a narrow loss to Midland last night could not dampen things at Dr Pepper Ballpark - but more than two dozen buckets of ice cold water certainly did the trick. After new owner Chuck Greenberg challenged the RoughRiders to take the Ice Bucket Challenge on the previous home stand, the team accepted with a twist: fans at Saturday's game bid to douse their favorite Frisco player. A sellout crowd was eager to participate and the RoughRiders raised more than $1,000 for ALS research in the coldest way possible!
The Ice Bucket Challenge was part of a fun Saturday night that also featured free RoughRiders footballs given to the first 2,000 fans through the turnstiles and $1 ice cream sandwiches available at concession stands all night long. In the sixth inning, a "Blue Light Special" for $1 beer and a merchandise discount at the team store was announced. Since the new ownership group led by Greenberg and Scott Sonju officially came on-board two weeks ago, every home game has become a celebration of this new era of RoughRiders baseball and a "Thank You" to our loyal fans. Fans have been treated to special giveaway items, great deals on team gear and nightly $1 specials on concessions items.
In store for Sunday: The fan-friendly promotions continue tonight at Dr Pepper Ballpark as the regular season winds to a close on this holiday weekend. Tonight the first 1,500 kids at the ballpark on Sunday will receive an Elvis Andrews replica 'Riders T-shirt jersey and cotton candy will be just a buck all night long (just don't tell your dentist). Additionally, tonight marks the final "Raising Cane's Grand Slam Sunday" of the regular season; for just $39.50, fans will receive four tickets to the game, four 'Riders hats and vouchers for four free Raising Cane's 3-finger combos.
