Rainiers stop River Cats

Quiroz and Garciaparra each went 3-for-5 with a homer and two runs scored for the Rainiers (32-31).
Mark Kiger's sacrifice fly in the sixth forged a 6-6 tie for the River Cats (32-32).
Scott Atchison (1-0) pitched two innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. The Tacoma bullpen combined to allow one run over the final five innings after starter Rich Dorman surrendered four runs in four frames.
Sacramento got a run in the third, thanks to two wild pitches by Tacoma starter Rich Dorman. Andrew Beattie walked and went to second on a wild pitch. He advanced to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch. The River Cats took a 5-4 lead in the fourth, when Charles Thomas walloped a grand slam.
