Sox outlast Tides
Robertson (1-4) allowed four hits, struck out three and issued two walks over six innings to garner his first win. In his previous three starts, the 29-year-old left-hander gave up 12 runs over 13 1/3 innings.
Tim LaVigne tossed a scoreless seventh, Juan Perez blanked the Red Sox in the eighth and Royce Ring pitched a perfect ninth to get his fourth save. Tides' pitchers only allowed three runners to reach second base.
Joe Hietpas led off the third inning with a single and scored on Jeff Keppinger's groundout to produce the lone run for the Tides (26-39).
Pawtucket starter Matt Ginter (3-8) surrendered one run on four hits in seven innings. He fanned five and issued three walks. Reliever Craig Breslow retired the side in order in the eighth to keep the game close.
