BAKERSFIELD BLAZE TO STREAM GAMES

The Bakersfield Blaze have once again teamed up with Great Catch Sports and Minor League Baseball to get Bakersfield Blaze Baseball back on the airwaves. In 2010, Blaze fans will be able to access select weekend games throughout the season and follow their team as they make their bid for the California League Championship.

Starting with the April 24th game fans are invited to tune in and hear live streaming play-by-play action at bakersfieldblaze.com. Simply follow the multimedia tab on the Blaze homepage to access the live streaming audio. Bakersfield Blaze General Manager Justin Kozubal is excited about getting Blaze Baseball out to the fans. "We feel this is a great way to keep fans closer to the game and connected to the Bakersfield Blaze. The Internet Broadcast gives us a chance to reach out to Blaze Baseball fans across the nation who would not normally get a chance to follow the team."

William Calvert will call the action for the Blaze. Blaze fans may be familiar with Calvert's voice; Calvert called games for Bakersfield during the 2007 and 2009 seasons. Prior to the 2010 season, Calvert worked as the number two broadcaster with the Lancaster JetHawks from 2006-2008 and has also served as the voice of Marauder Athletics for Antelope Valley College calling both football and basketball for the last two seasons.

Each broadcast will start 15 minutes before first pitch with the "Bakersfield Blaze Pre-Game Show." The pre-game show will prepare fans for the day's game with a look at the California League standings as well as club lineups and news. The pre-game show will also feature an interview with either a Blaze player or coach.

The Bakersfield Blaze is a charter member of the California League, and the Class-A Affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The Blaze play 70 regular season home games in Historic Sam Lynn Ballpark which is entering its 69th year. Tickets are now on sale.
