A great weekend of baseball will be highlighted by Father's Day at Lynx Stadium this Sunday at 1:05 pm! Bring your glove, because after the game all kids and Dads will be invited onto the field for a special Father's Day catch on the field! Fans are encouraged to bring their Dads to the park, and have them wear their tackiest tie! The Dads with the craziest ties will be eligible to win fantastic prizes. HOWIE WOWIE: Howie Clark had 16-game hit streak snapped on Wednesday before going 2-for-3 with three walks last night. Clark has now hit in 17 of his last 18 games. During this stretch Clark has batted .333 (22-for-66) ... Prior to the hitting streak, Clark was batting .237 on the season ... The 16-game streak by Clark is the 3rd longest streak of the season in the IL ... The longest streak this season is 20 games accomplished by Syracuse's Sergio Santos ... Clark has now reached base safely in 21 consecutive games.
BRIAN BOWLES THEM OVER: Lynx RHP Brian Bowles has been terrific of late. Bowles has not given up a run in back-to-back starts (13.0 innings total) collecting wins in both contests. Bowles record now stands at 3-4 and the recent success has improved his ERA to 3.03.
NEW FACES GIVE LYNX A BOOST: A few of the new faces to the Ottawa roster have been making large contributions to the Lynx. RHP Tim Kester has gone 2-0 in three starts, giving up only two runs in 18.0 innings to post an impressive 1.00 ERA. SS Jason Bowers, who joined the Lynx from the Independent Lancaster Barmstormers, has batted .345 in nine games with Ottawa.
STEADY EDDY: Lynx RHP Eddy Rodriguez has been terrific for Ottawa this season. Rodriguez has not given up a run in 8.0 innings in June, and has given up only one earned run this season in 22 games (28.1 innings) which works out an incredible 0.32 ERA. In the 28.1 innings Rodriguez has given up only 15 hits while striking out 30. The native of the Dominican Republic has a 2-0 record this season and is second on the Lynx with eight saves.
NEW PITCHING COACH: The Lynx will have a new pitching coach this homestand, as Dave Schmidt joins the Lynx to take the place of Larry McCall, who was promoted to Baltimore to work as the bullpen coach of the Orioles.
OF NOTE ON THE SCRANTON ROSTER: Former Lynx OF Peter Bergeron returns to Ottawa as part of the Scranton roster. Bergeron played for the Lynx during the 2002 season. Lynx Transactions Since Ottawa's Last Home Game:
