Canadians unveil ballpark upgrades for 2010

C's introduce Diamond Vision; lighting improvements
April 20, 2010
(Nat Bailey Stadium - Vancouver, BC) - The Vancouver Canadians Baseball Club is proud to announce the addition of Canadians Diamond Vision, a new state-of-the-art video board that will replace the old, outdated matrix board located in the left field power alley at Nat Bailey Stadium.

The Daktronics videoboard will change the way fans out at historic Nat Bailey Stadium will enjoy a baseball game. With a 18-foot by 28-foot high-resolution video screen, fans will get a first class presentation complete with instant replays, additional statistics and an increased overall entertainment experience.

"This was the logical extension for us out at Nat Bailey Stadium as we work to help our fan's enjoy their experience out at the ballpark," says Vancouver Canadians owner Jake Kerr who along with the Vancouver Park Board worked together to develop this exciting new ballpark element.

"Our fans will love Canadians Diamond Vision and our business partners will as well as we can showcase their product better than ever. It will be a first class production," adds Kerr.

The Canadians have also worked extremely hard along with the Vancouver Park Board, City of Vancouver and BC Hydro to help Nat Bailey Stadium become more "green friendly" and have taken a major step in that effort.

This coming season, all of the ballpark lights used to illuminate the field at Nat Bailey Stadium will be replaced by new energy-efficient lights that will reduce the energy needs at the ballpark by more than 66%.

"The lighting at Nat Bailey Stadium had 1949 technology and this upgrade with help both our players and fans enjoy the ballgame with a clearer, crisper lighting system in place," adds Kerr.
