Lemon lifts Frisco over Corpus Christi
A solid outing by starting pitcher Kasey Kiker helped the RoughRiders collect its fourth win in a row, beating Corpus Christi, 2-1, on Thursday night.
Frisco designated hitter Marcus Lemon recorded his first RBI of the season, as he delivered the winning run for the 'Riders with a sacrifice fly that scored Jonathan Greene in the bottom of the seventh inning. Greene started the inning with an infield single and after a passed ball moved him to second base, Guilder Rodriguez moved him to third with a sacrifice bunt.
'Riders starting pitcher Kasey Kiker didn't get credited for a victory, but he pitched 6.2 innings, giving up one earned run on five hits. He walked three and struck out five. Brennan Garr picked up the victory for the RoughRiders and he only had to pitch a third of an inning.
Tanner Scheppers continued his dominance on the mound, as he struck out four Corpus Christi batters in two innings to lock down his second save of the season.
