Official Announcement to be made Tuesday morning
September 19, 2014

BOISE, Idaho - The Colorado Rockies have agreed on a new Player Development Contract with the Boise Hawks to become their Northwest League affiliate.

The Rockies will become the third Major League club to call the current Boise franchise home, joining the Los Angeles Angels (1990-2000) and the Chicago Cubs (2001-14).  It will be the Hawks 29th season as a member of the NWL.

Colorado previously had their NWL affiliate in Tri-City for the past 14 years, with the parent club also having squads in Bend (1992-94) and Portland (1995-2000).

Complete details on the new PDC, along with comments from both the Hawks' and Rockies' front offices, will occur in a press conference scheduled for Tuesday morning at the Boise Chamber of Commerce starting at 10:30 a.m.

Officials from the Colorado Rockies will be in attendance for comment on the new partnership. All official Boise Hawks comments will be made at the press conference as well.

Boise will join Grand Junction Rockies (Advanced-Rookie, Pioneer League), Asheville Tourists (Low-A, South Atlantic League), Modesto Nuts (High-A, California League), New Britain Rock Cats (Double-A, Eastern League), and Albuquerque Isotopes (Triple-A, Pacific Coast League) as affiliates for the National League club.
