Sand Gnats to hold second 'Survivor' contest

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- The Savannah Sand Gnats will hold their second annual Survivor competition July 24-31. The contestant who outlasts and outplays the competition to the end will win fabulous prizes, including a pair of Sand Gnats season tickets for life and two round-trip tickets to anywhere Delta Airlines flies in the continental United States.

The Gnats will be accepting applications for Sand Gnats Survivor 2006, presented by Comcast, through Friday, July 7. Applications can be downloaded at www.sandgnats.com.

Survivor contestants will sleep in Historic Grayson Stadium's outfield picnic area throughout the homestand and will be fed ballpark food three times a day. Contestants will be allowed to bring a tent, two blankets, two pillows and three non-electronic "luxury" items.

Nine contestants will compete in a series of challenges to earn special rewards and immunity. One survivor will be kicked off each night through a combination of contestant and crowd voting.
