Hagerstown rolls out promos
The excitement begins tonight, Thursday, as the Suns pay homage to one-hit wonders of music and baseball. In addition to playing one-hit wonders over the sound system, the Suns will reward one lucky fan with 2007 season tickets if each Suns player records at least one hit out of the starting lineup. Tonight also marks the third round of the Twigg Cycles Calendar Girl competition and, as always, Thirsty Thursday drafts will be only $1. The game starts at 7:05 p.m.
On Friday, fans can arrive early to watch the Dynamark/Atlantic Security Little League Home Run Derby and stay late to view the First Data & Lite 97.5 Fireworks Extravaganza. Saturday features the second round of the Little League Home Run Derby along with our first Faith Night of the season.
Sunday's a busy day as the Suns standard Sunday promotions will take place, including the Herald-Mail Family Sundays, where fans get four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and four popcorns for just $25 with the coupon from Saturday or Sunday's Herald-Mail newspaper. Sundays are also the day when kids can go on the field pregame to be read to by Suns players during Suns Story Time presented by the Washington County Arts Council.
Also on Sunday will be our second-annual Renew Your Vows ceremony on-field prior to the game. A minister will preside over the service. Fans can register by arriving at Fan Services inside the Hagerstown Trust Plaza prior to 1 p.m.
During the sixth inning, we will pay tribute to "Shoeless" Joe Jackson by encouraging all fans to go shoeless. The Suns will register the total number of "shoeless" fans at the game and submit the information to Guinness in our attempt for a world record of "shoeless" fans at a baseball game. Following the game, Antietam Cable Advertising, Mini Melts and the Suns invite all kids on the field to run the bases. On their way out of the stadium, fans can pick up a coupon for ice cream from The Big Dipper.
The Suns are the Single-A affiliate of the New York Mets and are owned by Los Angeles-based Mandalay Baseball Properties. For more information, or to purchase tickets, contact the Suns at 301-791-6266 or visit online at www.hagerstownsuns.com.
