Kerry, Brown Bobble Heads

Team to honor Massachusetts Senators in August
May 3, 2010
LOWELL, MA - The Lowell Spinners, Class-A Affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, are getting political with two late additions to their 2010 Bobble Head line-up, yet remaining firmly in the middle of the aisle in announcing John Kerry and Scott Brown Bobble Head Giveaways for the 2010 season.

The Spinners have gotten political in the past, saluting both the Politically Correct and the Politically Incorrect with their own themed nights over the past several seasons, but this move is a bobble head first!

The team will first honor Massachusetts's Senior State Senator John Kerry with an idol of his likeness when the team takes on the Vermont Lake Monsters, Monday, August 23. The first 1,000 fans entering the gates will receive bobble heads of the Senator who has represented the state of Massachusetts since 1985.

Not an organization to take a political stance, the Spinners reach across the aisle one week later to honor the state's junior Senator, Scott Brown, when the team faces off against the Staten Island Yankees, Monday, August 30. Once again the first 1,000 fans entering the gates will receive bobble heads of the Senator, whose daughter Ayla has performed at LeLacheur Park in past years.

"As an organization we don't like to make political statements," said Spinners Vice President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "This is an opportunity to reach across both sides of the aisle for two nights where we can honor the two loudest voices our state has in Washington."

The two late additions to the Spinners 2010 bobble head lineup join notables such as Jacoby Ellsbury, NESN's Heidi Watney, Johnny Pesky and others set to be immortalized in Spinners history.

Tickets for both nights, along with all other 2010 Spinners home games are on-sale now. Tickets can be purchased online at www.lowellspinners.com, or at the Spinners Box Office, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m, also available by phone at 978-459-1702.
