Bachelor auction slated for Friday

Dates with seven singles up for grabs
May 5, 2010
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Fort Wayne TinCaps are making Women's Night Out as woman-friendly as possible. To help in raising money for the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer, the TinCaps are auctioning off some of their own. That's right! Now is your chance to win a date with a member of the TinCaps' front-office staff.

Each of the seven bachelors will be up for auction during the game on Friday, May 7th. The auction will begin as gates open at 6:05pm and the auction will close at the first pitch of the 8th inning.

Each of the winning ladies will win a date with their bachelor, and all of the funds raised will go to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer. The bachelor auction will be in a silent auction fashion at a table located on the main concourse.

Here is a sneak peek of what you can expect to see and hear from our bachelors:

Tony DesPlaines, the most interesting man in Fort Wayne, enjoys meditating on the roof of Parkview Field and saving litters of kittens from the side of the road.

Back in the day, Patrick Ventura led Wildcat baseball with a .765 batting average and is kind of a big deal.

Tyler Baker lives life in the words of Tim McGraw, "When it comes to loving you I've got velvet hands. I'll show you how a real bad boy can be a real good man."

Brent Harring hails from Milwaukee, takes pride in his buzz cut, and loves cheese curds.

Justin Shurley, the fine Classic Southern Gentleman, makes no apologies for the fact that his name rhymes with "burly."

Brad Shank is the Superman that you've been looking for...you can find this Man of Steel on Friday night at Parkview Field.

Dan Watson fancies himself as a jack-of-all-trades with expertise ranging from music to movies to how to treat a lady.

Women's Night Out will also feature kiosks in the Lincoln Financial Event Center from vendors around town. In addition to the kiosks, this night will be the first appearance of the TinCaps in the 2010 pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off to the public on May 27th with proceeds benefiting the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.

Tickets for Friday's game and every TinCaps game are available and on sale now. For more information, call (260) 482-6400.
