Frisco sweeps San Antonio

The RoughRiders completed a four-game sweep of the San Antonio Missions Friday night with a 9-0 victory. Frisco held the Missions scoreless in 21 consecutive innings, dating back to game two of the series. Friday's shutout was by committee. Kasey Kiker got the win and lasted 5.2 innings. He fanned four, allowed two hits, and increased his league-leading walks allowed by walking four. Ryan Tatusko needed just 2.1 innings for his four strikeouts. He walked none and allowed one hit. Ben Snyder allowed one walk in his one inning of work.

Renny Osuna, just one game removed from snapping his 11-game hitting streak, went 2-2 with two walks, two singles, a run scored, and an RBI. Kevin Richardson homered on back-to-back nights for the first time this year with a two-run blast in the fourth. He also walked twice. James Tomlin scored 3 times after walking twice and reaching on a fielder's choice. Joey Butler scored after an RBI double and extended his hitting streak to 9 games. Frisco needed just 6 hits for its 9 runs, but San Antonio committed 3 errors.

The 'Riders return to Frisco tomorrow night for the start of an eight-game homestand. Martin Perez (2-0, 2.49) will try to make it three wins in a row. The 19-year old has 23 strikeouts in five starts this year. First pitch vs. Midland is at 7:05.
