Trout's homer gives Kernels extra inning win 5-4

Appleton, WI - Mike Trout's homer in the top of the 10th inning gave the Cedar Rapids Kernels a 5-4 win over Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Trout finished the game 3-5 with two stolen bases and Casey Haerther went 2-4 with a double and RBI.

Kernels starter Tyler Skaggs allowed three runs on six hits, walked two and struck out five over five innings in a no-decision effort. Kehrer came on in the sixth and allowed an unearned run, a hit, walked four and struck out five over the final five innings for the win. Wisconsin reliever Jon Pokorny (2-1) took the loss.

The Kernels outhit Wisconsin 11-8 as Kevin Ramos was 2-4 with an RBI and Carlos Ramirez also went 2-4. Jean Segura and Eric Oliver also added an RBI. Carlos George was 1-4 with a triple and 3 RBI for Wisconsin.
