Springfield Cardinals mourn the loss of Oscar Taveras

Springfield, MO - The entire Springfield Cardinals organization joins the St. Louis Cardinals in offering condolences to the family of Oscar Taveras, the 22 year old Cardinals Outfielder, who was killed earlier today in an automobile accident in the Dominican Republic. 

Taveras, who played in 80 games with St. Louis this season, was the 2012 Texas League Player of the Year while with Springfield, and will forever be a cherished member of the Springfield Cardinals family. 

The St. Louis Cardinals will provide additional information on funeral arrangements at a later time.
