Flora became the San Francisco Giants' highest draft pick (No. 4 overall) since Joey Bart was selected with the No. 2 pick in the 2018 MLB Draft.
The right-hander spent three years at UC Santa Barba, finishing the 2026 season with a 1.06 ERA across 102 innings and recorded 133 strikeouts. Flora was named the Perfect Game and College Baseball Hall of Fame National Pitcher of the year.

Prior to his call up to Richmond, the Pleasanton, Calif. native made one appearance for Low-A San Jose. He struck out two batters in only one inning in his professional debut in Fresno. Flora started Game 2 for the Giants in the California League North Division Series, striking out four batters over two hitless innings.
The Richmond Flying Squirrels will face the Erie SeaWolves, Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, on Thursday for Game 2 of the Southwest Division Series at CarMax Park. Fans are encouraged to “Paint the Town Red” and wear red to the ballpark.
