In a scoreless game in the top of the first, Brock Deatherage singled before stealing second. After a walk and a passed ball moved runners to second and third, Kody Clemens singled to left to give Lakeland a 2-0 lead.
Leading by 2-0 in the top of the second, Flying Tigers second baseman Chad Sedio was hit by a pitch before Jon Rosoff singled him to second. After opener Justin Marsden (0-3) exited, Clemens reached on an infield single to score Deatherage and cap the inning at 5-0.
The Flying Tigers added two in the third before Dylan Rosa's three-run home run capped the night at 10-3.
Charlotte (38-33, 3-2) right-hander Stephen Woods Jr. turned in five solid innings in relief, allowing two earned runs while fanning four.
The Stone Crabs got on the board in the second when Gomez smashed an opposite-field home run to right to make it 5-1.
Charlotte scored on an error and a Taylor Walls single in the bottom of the fifth. Kaleo Johnson and Garrett Whitley both doubled to the wall in the loss.
