Christian Koss often flirted with hitting for the cycle during his college career. Christian Koss often flirted with hitting for the cycle during his college career. Just 18 games into his professional career, the third baseman finally accomplished the feat. 
The Rockies 12th round selection in June's First-Year Player Draft went .... hitting for the cycle and driving in 6 RBIs as Class A Short Season Grand Junction trounced Orem, ...., at UCCU Ballpark.

Flying out to center in his first at-bat, Koss would begin his historic quest in the third inning. The righty-swinging infielder roped a triple on a line drive to right scoring Julio Carreras to give the Rockies a 2-1 lead. 
Koss extended Grand Junction's lead, 7-5, in the fourth inning after he unloaded on a 3-2 fastball down the middle for a three-run shot off Emilker Guzman. 
Having accomplished the two hardest parts of the cycle, the UC Irvine product plated two more runs on a base hit to left. Koss advanced to second on a fielding error by left fielder D'Shawn Knowles. 
With history on-the-line for the Riverside, CA native in his fifth plate appearance, Koss drew a 3-2 walk from Dazon Cole. 
Playing in 54 games during his junior campaign at UC Irvine, Koss hit .307 with 12 doubles, five triples, and five taters.
