The Greenville Drive moved out to an early lead and went on to a 5-2 win over the Lexington Legends Saturday night in Greenville.
Lorenzo Cedrola led off the bottom of the first inning with an infield hit and moved to third on a single by Santiago Espinal.   Ryan Scott's single scored Cedrola as Espinal moved to third. Espinal scored when right fielder Rudy Martin committed an error on Tyler Hill's fly ball. Hill was credited with a sacrifice fly. Scott advanced from second to third after Roldani Baldwin's fly to right field, and after Hill stole second, Tucker Tubbs singled to right, scoring Scott, and Greenville had a 3-0 lead.
There was no further scoring until the bottom of the sixth, when Steven Reveles doubled, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on a sacrifice fly by Cedrola.
The Legends got on the board in the seventh on a two-out walk to Martin and a double by Khalil Lee.
Joe Dudek's solo homer in the eighth inning cut the lead to 4-2, but the Drive added a final run in the bottom of the eighth on a double by Mitchell Gunsolus, a sacrifice bunt and a single by Reveles.
Greenville starter Logan Boyd (8-4) got the win. He pitched six shutout innings, allowed seven hits, struck out eight batters and walked one. Hunter Smith pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his fifth save.
Legends' starter Jace Vines (7-4) was the losing pitcher.
The series is even at one win apiece and continues Sunday. Game time is 4:05 p.m.
