Decisive Plays: Grissom belted his second homer of July off left-hander Patrick Monteverde for a 1-0 lead in the first, but Troy Johnston’s two-run clout (1) off Michael Soroka (L, 3-3) swung the advantage to Jacksonville’s favor at 2-1 in the bottom of the first. Rehabbing Miami Marlins outfielder Avisail Garcia swatted an opposite-field two-run homer (3) to make it 4-1 in the third, and Johnston doubled and scored on a wild pitch for a 5-2 lead in the sixth. Daniel Robertson’s two-run single brought the Stripers to within 5-4 in the eighth, but Sean Reynolds (S, 3) got a five-out save to end it.
