Javier Guevara had three hits, while Chad Spanberger homered Thursday night at Lindquist Field, but it wasn't enough as the Grand Junction Rockies lost to the Ogden Raptors 6-3.
Spanberger's home run, his second of the season, came in the fourth inning and it tied the game at 2, and in the fifth, the Rockies scored an unearned run to take their first lead of the night, but it was gone in the bottom of the inning, as the Raptors scored twice against Justin Valdespina to regain the lead. They added another pair in the sixth.
Despite being on base three times, Guevara didn't score a run as the Rockies finished 0-for-13 with runners in scoring position, leaving nine on base. They struck out a season-high 12 times.
Spanberger had another hit to go with his longball, while Casey Golden and Joey Bartosic added a pair of hits for the Rockies, who fall to 3-8 on the season.
Valdespina took the loss, surrendering four runs over five innings. Making his professional debut, Lucas Gilbreath allowed a pair in the sixth. Jan Lopez and Hunter Williams kept the Raptors off the scoreboard in the seventh and eighth innings.
Moises Perez had three hits and a home run for the Raptors, while Luiz Paz also had a three-hit night. Cristian Santana hit his fifth homer and drove home two.
