Jupiter, FL (June 10, 2017)- Rodrigo Vigil broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning on an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Dustin Geiger, which ended up being the winning run in a 2-1 Hammerhead victory over Clearwater Saturday.
Jupiter, FL (June 10, 2017)- Rodrigo Vigil broke a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning on an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Dustin Geiger, which ended up being the winning run in a 2-1 Hammerhead victory over Clearwater Saturday.
Jupiter broke a scoreless tie in the fifth inning on J.J. Gould's no-doubt solo homerun to Left, giving the Hammerheads a 1-0 advantage. Clearwater responded in the top half of the sixth when Drew Stankiewicz hit a solo shot down the Right Field line to tie the game at 1, setting things up for Vigil's game winning hit in the 7th.
This game was all about pitching, as both staffs combined to strike out 22 batters, while only walking one.
Scott Squier picked up a no-decision, tossing six innings, giving up one run on five hits, and struck out five. José Quijada (2-1, 2.86 ERA) picked up the win out of the bullpen. The lefty went two innings, facing seven batters, striking out four of them. Jeff Kinley picked up his fourth save on the season to close the game out in the ninth.
Both teams return to action tomorrow for the final game of this series. First pitch is scheduled for 1PM.

Before the game, Trevor Richards was presented with his Florida State Pitcher of the Week Award. The League Leader in strikeouts and South Division All-Star was named the winner after throwing his third one-hitter of the season last week.
