The Jupiter Hammerheads wrap up their six-game series against the St. Lucie Mets with a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium. Jupiter won four of the six games versus the Mets this week.

In a series dominated by pitching, the Hammerheads starter Sandro Bargallo was locked in early. The lefty pitched 4.2 innings of shutout baseball before leaving with an injury. Before the early exit, he had eight strikeouts, one walk, and allowed only four hits. The former International Free Agent has a 0.66 ERA on the season and has only allowed one run.

Jupiter’s bullpen did a nice job of continuing Bargallo’s momentum. First in relief was Yoilan Quinonez, who pitched a perfect 1.1 innings. Next up was Tommy Nance, who was making his 2022 debut. The former big leaguer pitched one hitless inning for the Hammerheads. Josh Roberson, who’s still on a rehab assignment, earned the win on Sunday. The righty pitched one inning and allowed the only run in the ballgame. Tyler Eckberg came in to earn his first save of the season after pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

While the Hammerheads' pitching was dialed in, so was the Mets’ staff. Jupiter wouldn’t score until the seventh inning when Kahlil Watson hit a sacrifice fly. Watson’s team-leading 15th RBI gave Jupiter a 1-0 lead. However, the Mets responded in the next half inning to tie the game up at one apiece.

Jupiter would get the insurance needed in the eighth inning to secure the win. Osiris Johnson came around to score after a fielding error by the Mets. With the 2-1 lead, Eckberg closed the door and ended the series.

The Hammerheads will be back in action on Tuesday, April 26th when they square off against their RDCS rivals, the Palm Beach Cardinals.
