The Somerset Patriots defeated the Hartford Yard Goats by a score of 6-4 in 11 innings on Thursday night at Dunkin’ Park in Hartford, Connecticut.

After trailing 4-0 in the game, the Patriots scored six unanswered runs to win their fifth extra innings game of the season (now 5-3 in extra innings).

RHP Chase Hampton (7.0 IP, 4 ER, 9 H, 7 K) matched his career-high mark of seven innings pitched for the first time at the Double-A level. Hampton ends the day as the Yankees organization leader in strikeouts with 117 during his first pro season.

RHP Danny Watson (2.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K) pitched a hitless ninth and tenth inning to earn his third win of the season, improving to 3-0 and lowering his Double-A ERA to 1.47.

3B Tyler Hardman (3-for-5, 4 RBI, 2 R, 2 HR, K) got Somerset’s scoring started with a two-out, two-strike home run in the top of the seventh inning, while the Patriots were being shut out 4-0.

Hardman added an RBI-single that tied the game in the eighth inning, before smashing his second home run of the game in the 11th inning to give the Patriots the lead. The two-home run game marked Hardman’s fourth such performance of the season and the fifth of his career.

Now with 22 home runs in 70 games, Hardman has matched the career-high mark that he set during 110 games in 2022, when he led all Yankees minor leaguers. The 22 home runs also give Hardman sole possession of the Eastern League and put him two shy of the Minor League Baseball lead.

Hardman’s three hits matched his season-high mark for the third time this season, while he accomplished his fourth 4+ RBI game of the season.

RF Elijah Dunham (1-for-5, RBI, R, HR, K) hit his eighth total home run of the season and second for Double-A Somerset in the seventh inning. Dunham went back-to-back with Hardman for the Patriots’ sixth set of back-to-back home runs this season.

SS Trey Sweeney (2-for-5, 2B) put together his 17th multi-hit game of the season, ranking second on the team (Dominguez, 19). Over Sweeney's last eight games, he is 11-for-38 (.289) with 9 RBI, 7 R, 1 HR, 1 3B, 2 2B and 4 BB.
