(Hartford, CT) – Today, the Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, in partnership with Bank of America, announced that all home games at Dunkin’ Park will feature a table highlighting a Black-owned small business from the Greater Hartford area. This initiative was developed following a highly successful Black-Owned Business Expo at Dunkin’ Park in February, in which more than 50 vendors exhibited their products and services. The Yard Goats are
working with Sto Black Marketplace to select businesses to promote their brand, service and/or products.
“We’re thrilled to continue promoting Black-owned small businesses from the area, following the success of the business expo,” said Mike Abramson, General Manager, Hartford Yard Goats Baseball. “We’re hoping the ballpark will be a springboard for these businesses toward continued growth and recognition, and appreciate Bank of America for their passion in helping to provide guidance to these partners.”
“Bank of America is committed to supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Greater Hartford,” said Joe Gianni, President, Bank of America Greater Hartford. “By addressing opportunity gaps, especially access to capital and financial resources, we provide small business solutions to help support and grow minority- and Black-owned businesses. Healthy small businesses not only provide our communities with the products and services they need, but also help create jobs, build generational wealth, and stimulate the local economy. We look forward to kicking off this season in partnership with the Yard Goats and spotlighting an exciting lineup of local Black-owned businesses.”
The Yard Goats will host a Black-owned small business from Greater Hartford at every home game during the 2023 season. The businesses will be featured at a table in the main concourse to engage with potential customers and promote their brand. The Black-owned small business will also be promoted throughout the ballpark on the public address system, shown on the videoboard and included on the Yard Goats social media platforms.
The Yard Goats open the season on Thursday, April 6th (7:10 PM) against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles affiliate). Individual game tickets, season tickets, group tickets and luxury suites for all Yard Goats games at Dunkin’ Park are now available to purchase at yardgoatsbaseball.com.
