SPARTANBURG, S.C. — The Spartanburgers (11-24, 45-56) and Emperors (16-18, 49-49) were slated to play the final of six games at Fifth Third Park Sunday. However, the teams were postponed due to inclement weather. The matchup will be made up when the two squads reunite at AdventHealth Stadium between August 18 and 23.
Hub City won the Saturday matchup 12-6 thanks to four scoreless innings and seven strikeouts from Izack Tiger, 10 hits, including homers from Quincy Scott and Antonis Macias, and 11 walks. Rome won the first four games of the series.
The ‘Burgers hit the road this upcoming week for six contests against the Bowling Green Hot Rods, the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays. Tuesday’s series opener begins at 7:35 p.m. ET (6:35 p.m. CT). Live coverage begins 15 minutes before first pitch on the Founders Federal Credit Union Spartanburgers Radio Network.
