Henriquez Collects Four Hits In Win

Williamsport, P.A.- The Crosscutters opened their three-game home stand with a 14-6 win over the Tri-City ValleyCats.

Ben Pelletier got the Crosscutters on the board in the bottom of the 1^st inning, plating Jonathan Guzman with a sacrfice fly to center field, giving the Cutters a 1-0 advantage and giving Pelletier his team-leading 14^th RBI.
Williamsport added to their lead in the bottom of the 2^nd inning, plating three more runs against Tri-City starter Nivaldo Rodriguez.
Brayan Gonzalez led off the inning with a infield single and scored on a wild pitch from Rodriguez, upping the lead to 2-0. Keudy Bocio scored Jesus Henriquez with a flare into shallow left, giving Williamsport a 3-0 lead on Bocio's 5^th RBI of the season.
Rafael Marchan capped the scoring in the 2^nd inning with a rocket double to right field, chasing home Bocio to give Williamsport a 4-0 advantage on Marchan's 1^st double and 5^th RBI of the season.
Jhordany Mezquita worked three shutout frames, but battled his command, upping his pitch count in a hurry. The left-hander finished the night, allowing just one base hit and striking out four, but walked five batters in a no-decision.
The offense continued for the Cutters in the bottom of the 4^th inning, using a Henriquez double to score Gonzalez and make it a 5-0 lead. For Henriquez, it was 5^th RBI of the season.
Jonathan Guzman plated Henriquez with a single to right-center, to push the Cutters lead to 6-0 against the ValleyCats starter.
Tri-City got on the scoreboard in the top of the 6^th inning, scoring three runs against Cutters reliever Randy Alcantara, making it a 6-3 Cutters lead.
Williamsport responded in a big way in the bottom of the 6^th, plating seven runs to put the game out of reach.
The Cutters got their first two runners on base before using a throwing error by ValleyCats 3^rd basemen Michael Wielansky that allowed Brayan Gonzalez to score from 1^st base and allowed Henriquez to to advance to 3^rd base, giving Williamsport a 7-3 lead.
Guzman plated the 2^nd run of the inning with a sacrifice fly scoring Henriquez to make it a 8-3 Williamsport advantage, giving Guzman his 8^th RBI of the season.
With the bases loaded, Ben Aklinski singled up the middle, scoring both Bocio and Marchan to make it 10-3 Williamsport, and giving Aklinski his 9^th and 10^th RBI of the season.
The bog hit of the inning cam off the bat of Brayan Gonzalez, who doubled to right-center, scoring Madison Stokes, Aklinski and Kroon to give Williamsport a 13-3 lead on Gonzalez's 4^th double of the year and giving the Cutters 2^nd basemen his team-leading 15^th RBI on the season.
Alex McKenna plated a run for Tri-City in the top of the 7^th inning, singling off the leg of Cutters reliever Luis Ramirez, scoring Jeremy Pena to cut it to a 13-4 Cutters lead.
In the bottom of the 8^th inning, Jesus Henriquez got the run back, plating Stokes with a single to make it 14-4, on Henriquez's fourth hit of the night, giving the Cutters 3^rd basemen his 6^th RBI of the season.
Oscar Marcelino allowed two runs in the top of the 9^th inning, including a RBI single to former Cutter Luis Encarnacion, before striking out Michael Wielansky to end the ball game and give the Cutters the win.
The Crosscutters continue their series against Tri-City tomorrow night at BB&T Ballpark, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
