MOBILE, AL -- After Mobile put up one run in the first, Mississippi took a 2-1 lead after Joey Meneses scored on a forceout in the second and Jared James hit a RBI-double in the fifth. The Braves held that lead until the bottom of the ninth when Michael Hermosillo hit a two-out, walk-off three-run homer to win the game and clinch the series for the BayBears.
For the third game in a row, the long ball ruled the night at Hank Aaron Stadium. Mobile (37-46) struck first in the bottom of the first inning when Tim Arakawa hit a one-out home run to right, giving the BayBears a 1-0 lead.
For Mississippi (37-47), Meneses drew a lead-off walk in the second and advanced to second on a single by Emerson Landoni. Keith Curcio then walked to load the bases. After an infield fly rule, Jonathan Morales grounded into a fielder's choice, plating Meneses from third to tie the game.
Both pitchers controlled the game until the fifth when Jared James doubled to right field, scoring Morales, who had singled earlier and advanced to third on an error, giving the Braves at 2-1 lead.

The Braves held that lead to within one out of winning the game before the game-winner blast by Mobile. The bottom of the ninth began with a single by Wade Wass. After a flyout, Sherman Johnson reached on an error then Bo Way popped out on the infield fly rule. With two outs and two on, Hermosillo ripped the walk-off homer over the left field wall and Mobile won 4-2.
Luiz Gohara was excellent for the Braves, going 6.2 innings and holding the BayBears to one run on five hits, three walks and six strikeouts. The only run was the solo homer in the first. Devan Watts came on relief and was great for two innings. He only gave up two hits and no earned runs. He did give up the three-run shot and took the loss.
Mississippi will try to salvage a win or two with two games remaining in the series at Hank Aaron Stadium. Friday's game will see LHP Kolby Allard (4-6) on the mound for the Braves and the BayBears will counter with RHP Alex Klonowski (4-4). Game time is set for 7:05 PM.
