Salt Lake City, UT – Ronaldo Hernández hit a decisive three run homer and Humberto Castellanos cruised through his start in a 4-0 Reno Aces (10-8) win over the Salt Lake Bees (6-13) Friday night at Smith’s Ballpark.
Hernández, who joined the Diamondbacks organization this offseason, started at first base and made an immediate impact with a single, double, and home run in his first three at-bats. His homer in the fourth was the lone run-scoring hit of the game until Albert Almora drove in Bryson Brigman in the ninth inning.
Castellanos was absolutely terrific in his second start of the year. The right hander soared through five innings, allowing only one hit and zero runs with four strikeouts. Zach Barnes, Josh Green, and Christian Montes De Oca added scoreless outings in relief, securing the shutout.
