Albuquerque starting pitcher David Holmberg was phenomenal on the mound, shutting out the Aces over his 6.0 innings of work while yielding just one hit to the Reno offense. Holmberg also recorded a hit at the plate.
The strong outing from Holmberg was just the third quality start of the season for the Isotopes pitching staff.
At the plate, seven of the nine Isotopes starters recorded a hit, while Ryan McMahon, Mike Tauchman and Stephen Cardullo each finished the night with two knocks.
The Isotopes and Aces continue their four-game set on Wednesday from Greater Nevada Field. Brett Oberholtzer will take the hill for Glenallen Hill's squad. First pitch from Reno is set for 7:35 p.m.
