JERSEY SHORE, NJ - The BlueClaws home run barrage last week brought $26,000 to military-based non-profit organizations from OceanFirst Foundation through the Home Runs for Heroes program.

Each BlueClaws home run hit at FirstEnergy Park this year generates a $1,000 donation to at least one, and in most cases two, military-based non-profit organizations from OceanFirst Foundation. Each inning is represented by one or two non-profits, and a home run means donations to the corresponding organizations.

From June 1st - 6th against Brooklyn, the BlueClaws hit 13 home runs over six games, including four on Friday and five on Sunday. The four Friday home runs marked the first time the BlueClaws had hit that many in a home game since April 26, 2011. Then, they hit five more on Sunday, tying a franchise record set on two previous occasions.

Each of the 13 home runs hit last week meant a $1,000 donation to two different organizations, so a total of $26,000 was raised.

Jhailyn Ortiz hit three home runs last week, while Logan O'Hoppe, Nate Fassnacht and Vito Friscia each hit two.

Four of the home runs came in the third inning, so Ma Deuce Deuce and VETGROUP each earned $4,000. Three home runs came in the fourth inning, so that means $3,000 each for the Lt. Dennis W. Zilinski Memorial Fund and Recalibrate.
